Happy New Year, Ann. All the best wishes for you and your endeavors, for your family and friends, and for woman kind and human kind.

Your work, your vision, your strength – rare pearls all – but your loving way’s the best lesson I can recall.

In big T, plus ca change plus c’est la meme chose!
As a good masochiste I leave in an old house, cold in winter and hot in summer. My brother Alibaba, told me during his last visit that I was the richest poor person he has ever known! I have never been good in creating “comfort” for myself.
I don’t watch TV, and I have never been good with numbers, so no idea of temperatures. Seating here with heavy socks, and a blanket on my shoulders! Just heard that weblogs in big T have to register!!! going through other blogs to see what they are going to do about that, I don’t want to register, must give your identity card number, cell phone number etc…
oh well…..have to be creative again :)

Oh dear, you have to register now? I hope that includes President Ahmadinejad’s blog! There you go again, being subversive :D Wonder what brought this about, and is it just Teheran? Please do give us an update if you have time.

More later too in response to the Iranian oil bourse when I get a chance.

    Keep warm, OK?

Timely Reminders

"Those who crusade, not for God in themselves, but against the devil in others, never succeed in making the world better, but leave it either as it was, or sometimes perceptibly worse than what it was, before the crusade began. By thinking primarily of evil we tend, however excellent our intentions, to create occasions for evil to manifest itself."
-- Aldous Huxley

"The only war that matters is the war against the imagination. All others are subsumed by it."
-- Diane DiPrima, "Rant", from Pieces of a Song.

"It is difficult
to get the news from poems
yet men die miserably every day
for lack
of what is found there"
-- William Carlos Williams, "Asphodel, That Greeny Flower"
