Sign the petition to end the siege of Gaza now!

The people of Gaza desperately need your help. And they need it now.

Israeli human rights groups have asked each and every one of us to help them focus international attention on the deteriorating human rights crisis in Gaza. A month of actions will culminate on December 2 with almost 100 demonstrations across the world. Just the threat of international protests helped pressure Israel to call a cease-fire last week, but the siege continues.

1. Sign the international petition now. Israeli groups will present your signature, along with thousands of others, to Israeli officials next week.

2. Join a local demonstration on December 2 near you. JVP chapters are sponsoring activities in many US cities.

3. Contact Congress and tell them to suspend US military aid to Israel until they end the siege.

Peace,

All of us at Jewish Voice for Peace

PS Please go here to spread the word. This is a very critical time.

Timely Reminders

"Those who crusade, not for God in themselves, but against the devil in others, never succeed in making the world better, but leave it either as it was, or sometimes perceptibly worse than what it was, before the crusade began. By thinking primarily of evil we tend, however excellent our intentions, to create occasions for evil to manifest itself."
-- Aldous Huxley

"The only war that matters is the war against the imagination. All others are subsumed by it."
-- Diane DiPrima, "Rant", from Pieces of a Song.

"It is difficult
to get the news from poems
yet men die miserably every day
for lack
of what is found there"
-- William Carlos Williams, "Asphodel, That Greeny Flower"
