Will the U.S. ever leave Iraq? While official policy portends an eventual departure and US Republicans such as Senator Richard Lugar are on record as speaking out and calling for a coordinated withdrawal, facts on the ground tell another, very different, story.
In this Alternate Focus video, The Bases Are Loaded, independent journalist Dahr Jamail and author Chalmers Johnson talk about how military bases in Iraq are being consolidated from over a hundred to a few “megabases” with lavish amenities. Also features Gary Hart, James Goldsborough, Nadia Keilani, Raed Jarrar, Bruce Finley, Kam Zarrabi and Mark Rudd.

Okay. Maybe I’m gonna get bashed for my “innocence” here, but something tells me that America will not continue to stand for this. Clearly, the “war” is just putting some rubes in as targets for Iraqi ire while the oil company bases are tricked out. While they have been relying on our unwillingness to ever believe such a thing to get it done, I’m not so sure they even believe they can keep it up under the American flag. It strikes me that, especially with Haliburton moving to Qatar, they will not need the American flag that long. They already have massive military equipment and installations they can man with a private militia. There can be no doubt that they have moved nukes there already. We have even seen some mini-nukes set off by targeting a certain sector of a base. Even with the Democrats ever more apparently buying-in to their filthy plan, I feel as though the force of popular sentiment is close to boiling over in favor of getting to this global warming thing, and our administration is not going to be able to keep that shit up. Maybe I’m wildly underestimating the extremes of mass doltishness here, but it seems more likely to me that we’ve just been looted to set up the oil barons’ last stand. The “empire” may very well be based in Doha, not D.C.; that Paraguay is being turned into a paradise because * will not be able to keep living here after his White House gig. And… maybe I should be a novelist… could even be that they’re not impeaching because they’ve already been assured there will be less destruction overall if they just sit on it till January 2009. Sorry, but the perfidy here is way too thick even for America, so this stuff can’t help but spring to mind. I’ve been wanting to whine for a liberation army to land here for years, and this really could be why.
 Liberation army … classic.
Well neither will Iraqis and they eventually kicked the British mil out, at great human cost and much destruction but they still did it.
