Isfahan is a short animated film inspired by stunning Persian architecture and created by Etérea Studios. H/T to friend and inspiration Ressentiment. For a great Persian culture fix (and much else besides) see also Reclaiming Space’s Iranian sister city blog Forever Under Construction, and also check out NeoResistance. The clip may need a few seconds to load.

“Just as none of us is outside or beyond geography, none of us is completely free from the struggle over geography. That struggle is complex and interesting because it is not only about soldiers and cannons but also about ideas, about forms, about images and imaginings.”
Edward Said (1994)

This is a great graphic exercise, but I am afraid to say not representative for the architecture. Although it has a few realistic images, most of it is far from the feel or the accuracy of the architecture.
A pity they didn’t consult a connaisseur :)
I agree, that would have made it doubly potent were it more accurate. I think the creators too have acknowledged this, I remember reading on their website that they admitted it was inspired by Persian architecture but did not pretend to be an accurate representation of it. They did succeed in one thing other than a great graphic: it has made me want to see great Persian architecture for myself. :)
