I thought Marines were disciplined people…. look at all this mess! Seems like our local Militia:)

The Marines are disciplined people. That’s why I got out. It was way too structured for my taste. The drill instructors absolutely refused to serve me breakfast in bed.

Ya ga ga ga ga ga.

Speaking of disciplined people, why are we stuck at 152?

Don’t tell me these are the only people in the world against war.

Oh well – we will have to do the best we can with these few.

 Breakfast in bed for the Marines :D

    Thanks guys

I second Serv., any word from the Enough Fear people as to why they’ve been slow in posting photos?

Same with the militia, no “breakfast in bed” :)
I think by the time Enough Fear reaches its expected “critical mass” the war will be over!
This sounds like a conspiracy! they are trying to demonstrate that in fact everyone loves the war. They seem to successful with this perspective.
I propose that we send the emails again. Really they should drop the pictures it this is their problem as they say. They seem, in a good day, to be able to upload a picture at the rate of one every 5 hours!

ْGot this message from Enough Fear:

    Homeyra,

I want to assure you that we take this very seriously – we started this site last summer and while the number of people who have uploaded photos is not as high as we’d like it, we think it sends a powerful message to have Iranians and Americans speaking together for peace. While the number of photos are low, we’ve had many thousands of visitors, and we’re hoping to go beyond just the website to bring this message to the leaders of both our countries.
We’ve been doing anti-war work for many years, and one thing we’ve found is that small demonstrations that are symbolic and clear can sometimes be even more powerful than large demonstrations, which is why we chose to include photos and not just names on our website.
We had a few months where very few photos were being posted, which is why the surge of new photos in the last few days caught me by surprise. I’m adding a feature to the website tonight that will inform me each time a new photo is added so that the delay will be much shorter from now on. We are not posting photos automatically to the site because when we started this campaign several people posted inappropriate photos.
I want to thank you for your work in spreading the word about Enough Fear – the number of visitors we’ve had in the last few days has jumped significantly, and we’re counting on people like you to spread the word and keep this campaign going.

We’re meeting over the weekend to try and brainstorm some ideas of further actions – ways to expand this campaign beyond the website and get more media attention so that more people will know that people in both our countries want peace. Ideally, we’d like to come up with a simple symbolic action that a small group in each country can do at the same time. We’re putting together a possible list, and I’ll be emailing it out next week to our email list. If you have any ideas, we’d love to hear them. I look forward to talking with you more about this campaign.

    Peace,
    nick

Timely Reminders

"Those who crusade, not for God in themselves, but against the devil in others, never succeed in making the world better, but leave it either as it was, or sometimes perceptibly worse than what it was, before the crusade began. By thinking primarily of evil we tend, however excellent our intentions, to create occasions for evil to manifest itself."
-- Aldous Huxley

"The only war that matters is the war against the imagination. All others are subsumed by it."
-- Diane DiPrima, "Rant", from Pieces of a Song.

"It is difficult
to get the news from poems
yet men die miserably every day
for lack
of what is found there"
-- William Carlos Williams, "Asphodel, That Greeny Flower"
