Peoples Geography — Reclaiming space

Creating people's geographies

Friends, Romans, and cousins …

For the very few people in the known and unknown universe who may access this blog (tho’ greatly increased traffic in last week or so), due to a great suggestion my cousin Robbie and I came up with we will be starting a discussion group about the Middle East (including, but not limited to, the situation in Lebanon).

For ease of communication we have set up a yahoogroup. Feel free to join by going to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cedarpeace/

Please use this and refrain from a “reply to all” of a recent circular I sent out about Saturday’s peace rally. Be mindful of others email inboxes and sending unsolicited mail.

Appreciate the openness and support,

Ann

Timely Reminders

"Those who crusade, not for God in themselves, but against the devil in others, never succeed in making the world better, but leave it either as it was, or sometimes perceptibly worse than what it was, before the crusade began. By thinking primarily of evil we tend, however excellent our intentions, to create occasions for evil to manifest itself."
-- Aldous Huxley

"The only war that matters is the war against the imagination. All others are subsumed by it."
-- Diane DiPrima, "Rant", from Pieces of a Song.

"It is difficult
to get the news from poems
yet men die miserably every day
for lack
of what is found there"
-- William Carlos Williams, "Asphodel, That Greeny Flower"
