Does the Bush admin ever get anything right, ever?

I suggested before that they do the OPPOSITE to whatever their instinct/head/heart/god/whatever suggested and they would have better odds at getting something right!

It certainly cannot be worst than it is now. That should save another war in Iran/Venezuela/Korea North or South/China/Cuba/Canada/ Mexico/ godknows/my little old Ireland for now.

May be my advise might even save the earth.

[...] Once again, Fatah al-Islam are a Sunni militia, while Hezbollah are Shia, and to some people that’s the only difference that matters. When Hezbollah defeated Israel, it transformed the Western view of the Middle East more than anything since (and perhaps including) 9/11. Instead of simply “us” (and Israel) against “them”, the “wider conflict” became innately sectarian. Our Arab allies, in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, our Sunni allies, were helping us stand up to Shia Iran, Shia Syria, Shia Hezbollah. To truly believe in this, say our long-suppressed critical faculties, we would surely have to forget about Sunni terrorists like, oh, say, al-Qaeda, but no! Instead, we should give them money. Opposing “emerging regional superpower” Shia Iran has become the focus of imperial foreign policy. After spending the first half of this decade eliminating Iran’s arch enemies (Saddam and the Taliban), we are to spend the second half making new ones to keep it in its place. These enemies are mainly terrorists, like the notorious Mujahedin-e Khalgh, and like Fatah al-Islam.
